Biography

Elias is a Research Assistant with the MAEASaM Project, using remote sensing and GIS to identify, document, and record endangered heritage sites. They have previously worked as a field archaeologist with the Cambridge Archaeological Unit.

They hold a BA (Hons) in Archaeology and a MPhil in Archaeological Research from the University of Cambridge. Their MPhil research combined the use of archaeological fieldwork with archival research, oral histories, and digital methods to produce an archaeology of emancipation and colonial discipline in north-western Senegal.
