The Chaîne Opératoire: Past, Present and Future

Archaeological Review from Cambridge Volume 35.1

Edited by Monique Arntz and Michael Lewis

The Chaîne Opératoire functions as a framework for interpreting the manufacturing process, use, and eventual deposition of archaeological material culture and artefacts. The ARC was the earliest English language publication to discuss the chaîne opératoire to an international audience 30 years ago. Since then, it has become a widely utilised analytical tool in archaeological research. Within this new volume, we will explore the past, the present and future of this theoretical approach.

Join us for our virtual launch of Volume 35.1 on Friday 4 September at 17:00 BST via Zoom. Pre-registration is required. Pre-register at:
