Fragments of a wooden artefact were found in 1973 during the archaeological excavations at the settlement of Bidayik-asar near the Aral Sea (Kazakhstan), dated 4th c. CE. The artefact was published as a fragment of an unknown wooden object in 1996.

'The metallurgical work in Pre-Columbian America achieved a high degree of development. Even though in the Mesoamerican area the development of metallurgy started very late, during the post- Classic period (600 A.D.). Nevertheless, various techniques, such as lost wax casting and false filigree were rapidly developed and improved. The objective of this presentation is to analyze the different metal traditions in the Maya area and Oaxaca.'
