Biography

I am an administrator assistant and receptionist based in the Henry Wellcome Building, interested primarily in biological anthropology within a sociocultural context.
I graduated from the University of York in 2022 with a BA in Archaeology and hold an MSc in Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology from Durham University, completed in 2024.

In addition to my academic career, I have experience in archaeological excavation in both research and commercial contexts. Standout projects include a recovery excavation with American Veterans Archaeological Recovery in Sicily and a Neolithic burial mound at Must Farm, Cambridgeshire with Cambridge Archaeological Unit.

I am also interested in the accessibility of cultural heritage education and outreach. I promote this through bringing intersectionality into my own work, alongside advocating for the inclusion of individuals from diverse backgrounds within the archaeological sector: both of which are essential for the development of ideas and layered analysis of archaeological evidence.

Research

My undergraduate dissertation was completed in 2022, supervised by Dr Steph Piper at the University of York. My research focussed on challenging existing interpretations of gender roles and expressions of gender identity in Mesolithic Europe through the mortuary record, with specific analysis of burials at the sites of Lepenski Vir, Serbia and Zvejnieki, Latvia.

For my MSc in Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology I completed research on the experiences of women and children admitted to the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford during the 19th Century within a socio-political context. This was primarily conducted through examination of documentary evidence for record of patients presenting with trauma and was supervised by Dr Ellen Kendall, completed in 2024.

In the future I would like to continue developing alternate narratives of past societies by decentring Western and gender specific ideologies; creating space for intersectionality and the consideration of individual lived experiences.
