Biography
Kieran Gleave is a third-year PhD researcher with specialisms in industrial heritage and archaeology. After completing a BA in Archaeology at the University of Chester in 2019, he went on to work with the Centre for Applied Archaeology (CFAA) at the University of Salford as a Commercial Archaeologist. Being based in England’s northwest, most of the projects he worked on were industrial remains dating from the 18th to 20th centuries. Since moving to Cambridge to undertake an MPhil in Heritage Studies and subsequently a PhD, he has become a Trustee at the Cambridge Museum of Technology.
Research
Kieran’s ongoing doctoral research explores the identities of contemporary de-industrial communities and their relationships with the everyday legacies of the industrial past. His research engages with communities in Ancoats and New Islington (Greater Manchester) and Petersfield and Romsey Town (Cambridge, Cambridgeshire).
