This talk focuses on two addressing two key questions surrounding North American mastodons: the responses of generally warmer-adapted mastodons to glacial/interglacial cycles on a continental scale, and the relationships between American and Pacific mastodons. The data presented contributes to our understanding of these questions, further highlighting the dynamic interplay between population dispersals and climate change, and the complex nature of systematics from fragmentary and temporally spare remains.
