The winners of the Cambridge Student Union (SU) Student-Led Teaching Awards were announced on Thursday 13 May, 2021.

Dr Cameron Petrie, Reader in South Asian and Iranian Archaeology at the Department of Archaeology, was the winner in the "Innovative Teaching" category. He said, "This award has come as such a surprise. We introduced a flipped classroom to teaching this year making the teaching much more collaborative and interactive, and involves much more student group work than we would normally try."

Prof Cyprian Broodbank, Head of the Department of Archaeology, said, "Many congratulations to Cameron and, indeed, to all staff nominated for these awards. It is incredibly well deserved and especially so after such a difficult year. Well done!"

The Student-Led Teaching Awards exist to reward outstanding teaching and student support across Cambridge University and its Colleges and have gone from strength to strength since their inception, becoming widely respected throughout the University.

They are a unique opportunity for students to recognise the exceptional contribution of teaching and non-teaching staff to their education at Cambridge, and to highlight the kinds of teaching and support that they value and would like to see more of.
