Latest Keros Volume Published

Monumentality, Diversity and Fragmentation in Early Cycladic Sculpture: the finds from the Special Deposit North at Kavos on Keros by Colin Renfrew, Peggy Sotirakopoulou and Michael Boyd has been published.
Professor Cyprian Broodbank, Director of the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, said:
"It is extremely poignant that this latest contribution to the publication of the remarkable site of Kavos on Keros comes so soon after the death of its principal author, Colin Renfrew, who loved Cycladic figurines both for their aesthetic qualities and archaeological insights, and had studied them since the early 1960s. Among the finds published here are indeed several fragments from the small approved collection that Colin made during his first visit to this remote island, as a doctoral student in 1963, and probably only a few years after the site's catastrophic looting began. This book therefore spans Colin's life and experience in archaeology, as well as his beloved Cyclades, making it a fitting tribute and memorial."
