Supervision

I supervise students in the archaeology of art and religion studies, and the procurement and production of food procurement. I am interested in supervising students who wish to study for MPhil or PhD degrees in the following topics:

• Visual expression through art, e.g. rock art, figural art, pottery decoration. In particular visual perception, cognition of vision and art historical approaches
• Topics related to origins, presence and decline of religious belief and ritual behaviour, in particular shamanism and animism in the study of prehistoric communities
• Topics related to cultural categorisation and its role in the creation of identities through burial practices and consumption practices
