These are my (admittedly contemptible) notes on getting various GIS tools to work on OpenBSD. In theory all these pieces of software should be packaged and submitted to ports@ but unfortunately I'm a bit slow. So far, all I've got are how I got them to compile and what happened when I tested them. But like I said, these notes are primarily for my reference.
The different libraries and applications are listed below in the order that I think you need to build them, and interspersed are some notes on testing the builds and combinations. The object of the exercise is to be able to import most kinds of vector and raster spatial data, transform it, analyse, and present it as either hardcopy (e.g. PostScript or PDF) or via the WWW (hence MapServer). We shall see.
