TroinaTroina is a small town in Sicily, set at over 1000m, to the west of Mount Etna, which controls routes to the Nebrodi mountains and the north coast from the fertile plain of Catania to the south. The modern administrative territory of the town contains uplands and lowland valleys descending to about 300m a.s.l. There is a map showing the location of Troina here (courtesy of the Xerox-PARC Map Viewer), and the Getty TGN entry for Troina here.
