(Purchasing additional print credit)

(Help. I can't print)

On the instruction of the Department Committee, printing to MCS printers operated by the Department of Archaeology is charged for. Graduate students in the Department of Archaeology receive a free quota each year. Additional printing must then be paid for.

Quotas

The allowances for the Academical Year 2017–2018 are as follows:

Graduate students £12.00

Undergraduates, Visting Scholars, Visiting Students, Affiliated Scholars and Affiliated Lecturers should purchase credit as described below in Purchasing additional print credit. UTOs in the Department of Archaeology should contact a Computer Officer.

Charges

The actual charges are as follows:

A4 black-and-white 4p
A4 colour 25p
A1 (plotter) 300p
A0 (plotter) 600p

You will be unable to print to a MCS printer if you do not have print credit. If you are entitled to it, your print quota will be allocated to you shortly after the first meeting of the Department Committee of the Academic Year. This is where and when the size of the print quota is set. Credit is allocated to you each year that you are an eligible student. Credit is not allocated retrospectively.

If you are not entitled to a print quota you will need to purchase credits using the MCS eCredit application described below.

Problems

If your print job fails contact the Computer Officer for a refund. A refund is only available if the failure is due to a fault on the printing system or the printer. Print jobs failing due to user error are not eligible for a refund.

Help. I can't print

If you are unable to print, you probably don't have any print quota.

Scope

Please note that print credits purchased from the Department are not valid on Computing Service MCS printers, but print credit purchased from the Computing Service through the MCS eCredit application are.
